What to Expect
During our visit we bring the fabulous world of invertebrates i.e., insects, spiders, and other mini beasts to your location, giving talks on rearing, keeping and handling these unusual creatures. We provide information and ideas on how to find, observe and create natural habitats to conserve our indigenous creatures.
At school visits, The Backyard Bug Experience hopes to create future Entomologists or Herpetologists by providing the opportunity to meet, handle and experience these incredible creatures up close and personal. Some of the creatures you are likely to meet are, Stick Insects, Tarantulas, Scorpions, Cockroaches and some of their more slimy or scaly friends.
Our Bug Experiences are 60 minutes long. This includes an introductory age specific talk about the creatures and then the opportunity to meet and interact with the creatures.
